The Role of Nurse

With our summer positions, we want to offer you an opportunity to learn and develop together with us. You will face an exciting, developing, and varied job during the summer of 2025. In the role of nurse, your tasks will include leading all steps of the nursing process together with the rest of the department's team, in collaboration with patients and their relatives. You will also coordinate care plans in collaboration with doctors and others in the team.

- We are all beginners at some point, and here they really care about you when you come as new, says Jessica, nursing assistant at Högland Hospital in Eksjö.

In terms of scope, we offer you the opportunity to work as a part-time employee or as a full-time employee depending on your preference. If you wish to stay with us after the summer, there are good chances for that.

At the psychiatric clinic at Höglandet, we are investing significantly in the field and have recently opened our latest addition in the form of a courtyard to create a better presence for our inpatient patients.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or graduating in June 2025. We value if you have an interest in psychiatric care and for our target group.

To succeed in the role, we emphasize your ability and willingness to collaborate as it is a large part of our work. Being stable in your personality is important as situations can change, which requires the ability to maintain calm and a realistic perspective. It means a lot to us that you have a positive attitude towards both tasks and colleagues, and together we create high patient safety and good accessibility, with the patient in focus. Personal suitability is highly valued.

To have the best possible summer planning, we view positively if you can work 8 weeks or at least 4 consecutive weeks during the summer. Introduction will take place in addition to these weeks.

During your time with us, you will be assigned a mentor who will support you in creating the best conditions for you to take on your new role with us. Before you start working in the operation, you will receive a thorough introduction based on your needs and experiences. Additionally, we promise a solid foundation as we hold training for summer employees during week 24, where we will go through, among other things, how to respond in threatening situations, CPR, and an introduction to work and routines on the care ward over three days. Besides creating a solid foundation for your employment, this provides an opportunity to build community with other summer employees.
